TRUCKSTAFF ELD Removed From FMCSA Approved List
FMCSA announced another ELD Revocation, removing TRUCKSTAFF ELD from its registered devices list. Carriers have until August 23, 2026, to replace the device.
FMCSA Revokes TRUCKSTAFF ELD, Gives Carriers 60 Days
The FMCSA has removed TRUCKSTAFF ELD from its list of registered electronic logging devices. Carriers using this device now have until August 23, 2026, to replace the device with a compliant alternative or risk violations and potential out-of-service orders. The action is the latest ELD revocation announced by FMCSA this year.
Why FMCSA Revoked TRUCKSTAFF ELD
According to FMCSA, the device was placed on the agency’s Revoked Devices List because the company failed to satisfy the minimum standards established under federal ELD regulations.
The revoked device includes:
- Provider: Truckstaff ELD
- Device Name: TRUCKSTAFF ELD
- Model Number: TRKSF
- ELD Identifier: TRS227
What Carriers Using TRUCKSTAFF ELD Need to Do
Motor carriers currently using the revoked device have until August 23, 2026, to replace it with an ELD that appears on FMCSA’s list of registered devices.
Until a replacement is installed, carriers must stop using the revoked ELD and switch to paper logs or compliant logging software to record hours-of-service information.
FMCSA has advised carriers to begin the transition immediately rather than waiting until the deadline.
Drivers using the revoked device before August 23 will generally not be cited for failing to use a registered ELD, provided they can present paper logs, logging software records, or data available through the device’s display screen.
However, after the compliance deadline, carriers that continue using the revoked device could face violations and out-of-service orders.
Drivers Could Be Placed Out of Service After August 23
Beginning August 23, FMCSA will consider carriers using the revoked device to be operating without a compliant ELD.
Enforcement officials may cite drivers for failing to maintain a record of duty status and for failing to use a registered ELD.
Under CVSA out-of-service criteria, drivers found using the revoked device after the compliance period could also be placed out of service until proper records are provided.
TRUCKSTAFF ELD Joins Other Revoked Devices in 2026
The removal of TRUCKSTAFF ELD is part of a broader effort by FMCSA to ensure registered ELDs continue meeting federal standards after approval.
Several ELDs have been removed from FMCSA’s registered devices list this year after failing to meet agency requirements.

ELD User Manuals No Longer Required in Trucks
The latest ELD revocation comes just weeks after FMCSA finalized a rule removing the requirement for drivers to carry a paper ELD user manual inside the truck.
Under the updated regulation, drivers are no longer required to keep a printed copy of the ELD instruction manual in the vehicle. Instead, the information may be provided electronically by the ELD provider.
FMCSA said the change reduces unnecessary paperwork while maintaining access to important operating instructions during inspections and roadside enforcement encounters.
Although the manual requirement has been removed, drivers must still know how to transfer ELD data and display records to enforcement officials when requested.
