First-of-Its-Kind Travel Stop Planned for Truck Drivers and Travelers

A new travel stop backed by country music star Dolly Parton is set to open on June 24 in Tennessee. The first Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop will open at Exit 22 on Interstate 65 in Cornersville, Tennessee. The location is about one hour south of Nashville and one hour northwest of Huntsville, Alabama.

According to the company, the place was designed for truck drivers, travelers, families, and residents. The location will offer fuel, food, shopping, and a place to relax while traveling.

The June 24 opening will mark the launch of what company officials describe as the first location in a planned chain of travel stops.

New Travel Stop Coming to I-65

The new location is the result of a partnership between Dolly Parton, her longtime manager Danny Nozell, and Gregory H. Sachs, owner of the Tennessean Travel Stop brand.

The company says the concept was inspired by Parton’s lifelong connection to the road. From her childhood in East Tennessee to decades spent touring the country by bus, travel has been a major part of her life.

Officials say the goal is to create a welcoming stop where travelers can fuel up, enjoy a meal, and take a break before getting back on the road.

Food, Fuel, and Shopping

Visitors will find several amenities at the new location.

Food options will include DLY BBQ, Dolly’s Cup of Ambition Coffee, and a full-service café and restaurant.

The travel stop will also feature fuel services, shopping, and custom merchandise.

According to the company, the location was designed to provide a comfortable stop for travelers moving along the busy I-65 corridor.

Travel Stop Features Unique Dolly Parton Attractions

The Cornersville location will include several features that make it different from a typical travel center.

An original mural has been commissioned as a tribute to the local community.

The site will also feature a tour bus display inspired by the buses Parton has used throughout her touring career. The display is intended to celebrate her years spent traveling the country.

Grand Opening Set for June 24

The official grand opening is scheduled for June 24.

Company officials say the event will be open to the public. Additional details about the celebration are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Live music will also be part of the experience. Local musicians and bands are being invited to perform during grand opening week and future events at the location.

First Travel Stop May Be Followed by More Locations

The Cornersville site is expected to be the first of many planned locations.

While the company has not announced where future travel stops may be built, officials say the new brand was created with expansion in mind.

For truck drivers traveling through Tennessee, the new travel stop will add another stopping point along I-65 beginning June 24.

The company says the location is intended to provide fuel, food, hospitality, and a welcoming place to rest before continuing down the road.
