Joplin 44 is hosting a June 13 grand reopening to showcase a 32,000-square-foot expansion, new restaurants, and Tesla Superchargers.

Joplin 44, billed as Missouri’s largest truck stop, will celebrate its grand reopening on June 13 following a major expansion that added new amenities, dining options, and additional space for travelers and professional drivers.
The free public event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Joplin 44 Petro, located at 4240 State Route 43 in Joplin, Missouri.
According to facility officials, the reopening marks the completion of a construction project that significantly expanded the truck stop and introduced several new features.
“This grand re-opening marks an exciting new chapter for Joplin 44,” said General Manager Jason Spindler. “We’re proud to welcome guests back to experience the improvements we’ve made.”

The June 13 celebration is open to professional drivers, local residents, and members of the media.
Visitors will have an opportunity to tour the updated facility and participate in several activities planned throughout the day.
Event attractions include:

- Car show
- Bounce houses
- Family-friendly activities
- Free cake
Officials say the event is intended to showcase the truck stop’s recent improvements and expanded services.
Joplin 44 Expansion Added Nearly 32,000 Square Feet
The renovation project added nearly 32,000 square feet of space to Joplin 44, making one of the Midwest’s largest truck stop destinations even bigger.
The expansion also included the installation of 20 Tesla Superchargers in the parking lot.
The project represents one of the largest recent upgrades at the facility, which has long served drivers traveling along Interstate 44 through southwest Missouri.
New Restaurant Options Available for Drivers
The expansion brought several new food options to Joplin 44.
In addition to existing restaurants such as Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and Dairy Queen, the truck stop has added:
- Starbucks
- McDonald’s
- Black Bear Diner
Black Bear Diner, a full-service restaurant featuring homestyle meals, opened in May.
The expanded dining lineup provides additional choices for truck drivers spending time at the facility during breaks or overnight stops.
Longtime Stop for Interstate 44 Drivers
According to Joplin 44, the facility has long been a destination for travelers and professional drivers moving through the Interstate 44 corridor.
Management says the goal of the expansion was to continue improving amenities, dining options, and services available to customers.
With the grand reopening scheduled for June 13, visitors will have their first opportunity to see the completed upgrades and expanded offerings now available at Missouri’s largest truck stop.
