Love’s Travel Stops Expands With New Illinois Location and Major Upgrades

Love’s Travel Stops has expanded its nationwide network with the opening of a new travel stop in Illinois while completing renovations at several existing locations in Oklahoma and Kansas. The latest investment adds new truck parking, modernized facilities, and additional services for professional drivers traveling through some of the country’s busiest freight corridors.

The company announced the opening of its newest travel stop in Rock Falls, Illinois, while also completing improvements under its Road Ahead Plan at one Oklahoma location and four locations on the Kansas Turnpike.

Love’s Travel Stops Opens New Illinois Location

The newest Love’s Travel Stops location is located in Rock Falls, Illinois, at Interstate 88 and Illinois Route 40. It becomes the company’s 37th location in the state and is positioned along a major route used by commercial traffic moving between northern Illinois and eastern Iowa.

One of the biggest additions is 85 new truck parking spaces, providing more legal parking options for commercial drivers. The opening is part of Love’s broader effort to expand truck parking across its network. According to the company, it has added more than 1,000 truck parking spaces nationwide during 2026.

The Rock Falls location employs approximately 90 people and offers a full range of services designed for both professional drivers and other travelers.

New Location Offers Fuel, Food, and Driver Amenities

In addition to truck parking, the new Love’s Travel Stops location includes several amenities commonly used by commercial drivers during mandatory breaks and overnight stays.

The new travel stop features:

  • 85 truck parking spaces
  • Seven diesel bays
  • Four private showers
  • Laundry facilities
  • CAT Scale
  • Love’s Fresh Kitchen
  • Self-checkout
  • Dog park
  • RV dump station
  • Six RV hookups scheduled to open soon

The location will also include two restaurant options. Godfather’s Pizza and Naf Naf Grill are scheduled to open on July 27, giving drivers additional meal choices while traveling through northern Illinois.

Love’s Preparing for Future EV Charging

Like many recently opened Love’s Travel Stops locations, the Rock Falls facility was built with space reserved for future electric vehicle charging stations.

Love’s said preparing the site during construction allows charging infrastructure to be added more quickly in the future if demand increases and utility connections become available. The company has been incorporating similar designs into many of its newest travel centers as transportation technology continues to evolve.

Existing Love’s Travel Stops Receive Major Renovations

Along with opening the new Illinois location, Love’s announced that renovations have been completed at five existing travel stops as part of its ongoing Road Ahead Plan, which focuses on updating older locations throughout its network.

The renovated locations include:

  • Southeast Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
  • Belle Plaine, Kansas
  • El Dorado (Towanda), Kansas
  • Cassoday (Matfield Green), Kansas
  • Topeka, Kansas

According to Love’s, the improvements were designed to modernize the facilities and improve traffic flow throughout the stores. The company regularly renovates existing locations to keep pace with customer demand while maintaining consistent services across its nationwide network.

Truck Parking Continues to Be a Priority

The expansion comes as truck parking remains one of the trucking industry’s biggest challenges. Drivers are often required to spend valuable time searching for available parking while complying with federal Hours-of-Service regulations.

Every additional parking space helps increase the number of legal places where drivers can stop for required rest breaks or overnight parking.

With the addition of 85 spaces in Rock Falls and continued investments at existing travel centers, Love’s is continuing its effort to expand parking capacity while improving facilities used daily by commercial drivers.

What It Means for Truck Drivers

The new Love’s Travel Stops location provides another full-service stop along Interstate 88, giving drivers traveling through northern Illinois additional options for fuel, parking, meals, and rest.

Meanwhile, the completed renovations in Oklahoma and Kansas improve several existing locations on important freight corridors, offering updated facilities without changing the services drivers rely on.

As Love’s continues expanding its nationwide network, the company’s investments remain focused on adding truck parking, modernizing travel centers, and improving amenities for professional drivers operating across the United States.
