Daily Big Rig: “Always Headed Home: A Trucking Tribute to Love and Legacy”

Small fleet owner-operator C.G. Soza, hailing from Atwater, California, has not only been a dedicated hauler of cars but has also navigated the twists and turns of life’s most challenging journeys. His story is one of resilience, love, and a remarkable tribute to his late son, A.J., and wife, all set against the backdrop of his eye-catching 2016 Kenworth W900L, aptly named “Always Headed Home.”

Soza’s life took a heart-wrenching turn when he faced the tragic loss of his young son, A.J., and his wife in a car accident. This devastating incident left him soul-searching, seeking a way to honor their memory and make a positive impact on the lives of others. Inspired by his son, who had dyslexia, Soza embarked on a mission to support children with the same learning challenge in his community.

To bring this vision to life, Soza founded the A.J. Soza Foundation, dedicated to helping children with dyslexia access the resources they need to succeed. But he didn’t stop there; he decided to leverage his passion for trucking to raise funds for the foundation. Thus, the A.J. Soza Memorial Truck Show was born.

The second annual A.J. Soza Memorial Truck Show, held in June, provided an excellent opportunity to meet Soza in person and get an up-close look at his remarkable 2016 Kenworth W900L, the centerpiece of his tribute. This ultra-custom truck, known as “Always Headed Home,” is a sight to behold, often resembling the iconic Optimus Prime despite being powered by a Cummins engine.

The exterior of the Kenworth is a visual masterpiece, with a meticulously designed paint scheme that pays homage to A.J. and Soza’s journey through life. The words “Always headed home” adorn the truck, constantly reminding of the love and memories that drive Soza forward. The interior is no less impressive, featuring a complete makeover that extends the striking paint scheme to the floor, where epoxy coating ensures it remains pristine and free from scratches.

The story behind this stunning tribute truck is not just about its impressive aesthetics but also about the journey of healing and hope that it represents. Soza’s dedication to the A.J. Soza Foundation and his commitment to supporting children with dyslexia is a testament to his enduring love for his late son and wife.

Beyond the breathtaking exterior and interior of the Kenworth W900L, Soza’s dedication to making a difference in the lives of children with dyslexia stands as a shining example of the positive impact the trucking community can have on society. His truck shows bring truck enthusiasts together and raise crucial funds and awareness for a cause that truly matters.

In the trucking world, where tough challenges occur daily, C.G. Soza’s journey reminds us that the road ahead can be a path of love, resilience, and giving back. “Always Headed Home” is more than just a truck; it’s a symbol of unwavering love, a tribute to cherished memories, and a beacon of hope for children facing the challenges of dyslexia in Atwater, California, and beyond.
