Kodiak Trucks, J.B. Hunt, & Bridgestone celebrate a milestone of 50,000 autonomous miles, showcasing safety, efficiency, & innovation in long-haul trucking.

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Bridgestone Americas, and Kodiak Trucks have hit a big milestone. They’ve driven over 50,000 miles using Kodiak’s autonomous trucks to deliver Bridgestone tires from South Carolina to Dallas. This success shows how Kodiak trucks are becoming more important in long-haul trucking.

Safe and On-Time Deliveries with Kodiak Trucks

Since starting in January, Kodiak’s autonomous trucks have completed the route safely and on time. This shows the trucks are reliable and can handle long-haul deliveries without any problems. The success proves that autonomous technology is ready for the trucking industry.

How Kodiak Trucks Improve Delivery

Kodiak’s autonomous trucks are a key part of this delivery process. These self-driving trucks travel 750 miles from Atlanta to Dallas. They use Bridgestone M719 drive tires and R213 steer tires. J.B. Hunt moves the trailers to and from Bridgestone and Kodiak hubs. By using Kodiak trucks, J.B. Hunt can avoid empty trips and save time. Their J.B. Hunt 360box® network helps make everything more efficient.

Efficient Solutions with Kodiak Trucks

The partnership between J.B. Hunt, Bridgestone, and Kodiak is designed to save time and cut down on empty miles. J.B. Hunt starts by moving the tires from Bridgestone’s plant in Graniteville, SC, to Kodiak’s truckport in Villa Rica, GA. From there, Kodiak Trucks take over and drive to Lancaster, TX. J.B. Hunt then finishes the delivery to Bridgestone’s Roanoke distribution center. On the way back, J.B. Hunt finds more loads for the trucks , making sure they don’t run empty.

How Kodiak Trucks are Moving Forward

Bridgestone’s investment in Kodiak in 2021 was key to this project. By adding smart-sensing tire technology to Kodiak’s autonomous trucks, Bridgestone has made them safer and more efficient. Don Burnette, CEO of Kodiak Robotics, said, “Our ability to build an autonomous delivery program with J.B. Hunt, one of America’s best-respected and most innovative trucking fleets, and Bridgestone, a longstanding Kodiak investor and a leader in transportation technology, makes this a perfect collaboration.”

The Future with Kodiak Trucks

This partnership shows that Kodiak trucks are ready to change the trucking industry. As technology keeps improving and partnerships like this grow, Kodiak could lead the way in making transportation more efficient, safe, and sustainable.
