2025 Best Fleets to Drive For: Recognizing Top Trucking Workplaces

The 2025 Best Fleets to Drive For® winners have been announced, recognizing trucking companies that provide outstanding workplace experiences for their drivers. CarriersEdge, an online driver training provider, revealed the winners at the Best Fleets to Drive For Education & Awards Conference at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, North Carolina. Now in its 17th year, the program evaluates for-hire carriers based on driver compensation, benefits, safety, professional development, and overall workplace culture.

Top Overall Fleets for 2025

This year, K&J Trucking, Inc. of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, received the Best Overall Fleet in the small carrier category. The company, which primarily works with independent contractors, won the award for the second consecutive year. K&J Trucking is the first contractor fleet to achieve back-to-back wins in the program’s history.

For the large carrier category, Decker Truck Line, Inc. of Fort Dodge, Iowa, was recognized as the Best Overall Fleet. This marks Decker’s first time winning the overall title after making the Top 20 list for four years.

Garner Trucking Recognized with Stratosphere Award

Garner Trucking, Inc. of Findlay, Ohio, received the Stratosphere Award, which is given to the highest-scoring fleet in the Best Fleets Hall of Fame. This distinction is reserved for fleets that have been recognized as a Best Fleet for at least 10 consecutive years or seven years with a previous overall win.

CarriersEdge CEO Jane Jazrawy noted that these fleets have excelled despite economic challenges, continuing to prioritize driver satisfaction and workplace innovation.

How Fleets Are Selected

The Best Fleets to Drive For program begins with nominations from company drivers and independent contractors. To be eligible, carriers must operate at least 10 tractor-trailers. Fleets are then evaluated across various categories, including compensation, benefits, work-life balance, and safety programs. Driver surveys are also conducted to measure workplace satisfaction.

The highest-scoring fleets make the Top 20 Best Fleets to Drive For list. Additionally, fleets that maintain top rankings over time may enter the Hall of Fame, a category that recognizes companies with a sustained record of excellence.
