The 2023s Woman, in Trucking title, was awarded to Shelley Simpson, the President of J.B. Hunt Transport Services at the Women in Trucking Association (WIT) Accelerate! Expo in Dallas. This prestigious accolade recognizes women who are making strides in the trucking industry. Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) known for its quality reputation in the trucking realm proudly sponsored this award.
Shelley Simpson emerged as the standout among a group of finalists including financial expert Tori Blake of Western Logistics Express and WLX and Walmarts End’s End Delivery Acceleration leader, Megan Ferguson.

Jennifer Hedrick, WIT’s President and CEO commended Simpson for her thirty-year commitment to promoting gender diversity in transportation. Simpson’s journey within the trucking sector exemplifies her unwavering dedication and strong leadership.
Her career trajectory at J.B. Hunt is marked by advancement and innovation. Starting as a customer service representative Simpson swiftly progressed through key roles, within different business segments.
As the Chief Commercial Officer and Executive Vice President of People and Human Resources she played a role, in shaping the future of the company.
One of her accomplishments involved leading the establishment of Integrated Capacity Solutions (ICS) in 2007 a division she nurtured from its inception. Her journey progressed as she assumed roles in sales and marketing eventually becoming the Chief Marketing Officer and later guiding the Truckload business segment to achievements.
Simpsons vision was pivotal in developing J.B. Hunt 360° strategically. Introducing external product offerings. Her efforts to globalize these technology-based services marked a milestone for the company.
