The Price of Diesel and Gas Continue to Fall Across the U.S.
Gasoline and diesel prices are dropping across the country this September. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), the average price of diesel is $3.56 per gallon. This is a 7-cent decrease from the previous week. Gas prices are also down, averaging $3.24 per gallon, a 5.3-cent drop.
Prices vary by region. California drivers pay the most, with gasoline at $4.45 per gallon and diesel at $4.74. In contrast, the Gulf Coast sees the lowest prices, with gasoline at $2.80.
Good News for Truck Drivers
The trucking industry is benefiting from the lower price of diesel. Fuel is one of the biggest expenses for trucking companies, and lower prices help ease the financial burden. This is especially helpful with the busy holiday season coming up.
However, drivers in higher-cost areas like California are still dealing with more expensive fuel. The trucking industry will keep a close eye on these price changes as they impact operations.
What’s Next?
The EIA will release its next report on fuel prices on September 16th. Drivers and fleet operators should stay informed, as fuel prices can still change based on market conditions and demand. For now, they can take advantage of the current price drops, especially in lower-cost regions.
