Love’s opens new San Antonio, Texas travel stop adding 70 truck parking spaces, expanding services and amenities for truck drivers along Interstate 410.

New Love’s Location Expands Access and Truck Parking Along I-410

Love’s Travel Stops has opened a new travel stop in San Antonio, marking its second location in the city and its 83rd site in Texas. The facility is located off Interstate 410 at exit 412 on Southton Road, offering access for drivers traveling through the area. The company said the new location is designed to serve both local customers and drivers moving freight through one of Texas’ busiest regions. San Antonio remains a key hub for trucking routes, making added services and truck parking a notable development for drivers operating in and around the city.

70 Truck Parking Spaces Added to Help Address Shortage

The new travel stop includes 70 truck parking spaces, all available free of charge for professional drivers. The addition comes as the trucking industry continues to face a nationwide shortage of safe and available parking.

According to the company, more than 500 new truck parking spaces have already been added across the United States in 2026. The San Antonio site is part of that ongoing effort to increase parking capacity and improve access for drivers who rely on truck stops for rest breaks and compliance with hours-of-service regulations.

Reliable parking remains a daily concern for drivers, especially in high-traffic areas like South Texas. New locations with dedicated truck parking can help reduce time spent searching for available spaces and improve trip planning.

On-Site Amenities

The new facility spans nearly 15,000 square feet and includes a range of services aimed at supporting drivers during long hauls. Amenities at the location include:

  • Seven showers
  • Laundry facilities
  • A dog park
  • A CAT Scale for weighing loads
  • RV dump access
  • Self-checkout options

The site also includes 77 car parking spaces and added convenience features intended to reduce wait times and improve overall efficiency for customers.

For truck drivers, access to showers, laundry, and pet-friendly areas can make a difference during extended trips. These services can help drivers maintain routine and comfort while staying compliant with rest requirements tied to truck parking availability.

First Whataburger at a Love’s Travel Stop Set to Open

The San Antonio location will also feature the first Whataburger inside a Love’s Travel Stop. The restaurant is scheduled to open on May 4.

Food availability remains an important factor for drivers managing tight schedules. Expanded dining choices at truck stops can help reduce time spent searching for meals off-route.

Rewards Program and Future Plans Around Truck Parking Sites

The company’s rewards program is also available at the new location, allowing customers to earn points and access savings on fuel and food purchases. The Love’s Rewards App provides tools for locating stores, tracking points, and finding available amenities, including truck parking.

In addition, the site has been built with space for future electric vehicle charging stations. While chargers are not currently installed, the company indicated it can work with local utility providers to add them if demand increases.

This approach reflects a broader shift in the transportation sector, where some fleets are beginning to explore alternative fuel options. While diesel remains dominant in trucking, infrastructure planning continues to evolve alongside truck parking expansion.

Community Donations Mark Grand Opening

As part of the grand opening, Love’s announced donations totaling $10,000 to local organizations in San Antonio. Funding will support East Central High School Band and Christus Children’s Hospital.

The company also noted that its district managers continue to work with eligible nonprofit groups through annual community grant programs.

Impact on Truck Drivers in San Antonio

The addition of a new travel stop along Interstate 410 provides another option for drivers moving through San Antonio, particularly those needing truck parking, fuel, or rest services.

With 70 new parking spaces and a range of on-site amenities, the location may help ease congestion at nearby stops.

As trucking demand remains steady across Texas, infrastructure expansions like this one continue to play a role in improving day-to-day operations for drivers and carriers alike.
