Roehl Transport’s Trucker, John Moeller, Reaches 6 Million Safe Miles

John Moeller, a truck driver for Roehl Transport, has driven over 6 million miles without an accident. This is a huge achievement, not just for John, but also for the company. It’s a sign of dedication and skill that is hard to match.

Decades of a Trucker Career in Safe Driving

John Moeller started driving for Roehl Transport in 1979. Since then, he has made safety his top priority. His careful driving has kept many people safe on the road. Roehl Transport’s CEO, Rick Roehl, praised John’s achievement, saying, “Our company is built upon our cornerstone value of safety, and John has lived that value with every mile he’s driven. Thank you, John, for your dedication to our industry, to our company and for driving to protect others.”

John’s record of driving without an accident is unmatched at Roehl. Before reaching 6 million safe miles, he was the first Roehl driver to hit 3, 4, and 5 million accident-free miles. Along the way, he’s won many awards. In 2011, he was named Truckload Carriers Association’s Company Driver of the Year.

A Varied and Impressive Career as a Trucker

Today, John drives in the Curtainside National Fleet, but he’s done much more during his time with the company. For many years, he worked as a flatbed driver, securing and tarping loads. In 2009, he made Roehl’s first delivery to Alaska, marking another milestone in his career.

John and his wife, Debbie, have been together for over 40 years. They live in Marshfield, Wisconsin, where they’ve raised three children—Derek, Jenna, and Jared. They also have six grandchildren: Braedyn, Arianna, Aleigha, Jourdyn, Landon, and Carstyn.

A Milestone in Trucking

John’s achievement is not only a personal one, but also an industry-wide accomplishment. Roehl’s Vice President of Safety and Claims Management, John Spiros, commented on the significance of the achievement, saying, “John moves into an elite class of drivers – having driven more than 6 million miles accident-free is a top-tier accomplishment.”

Reaching 6 million accident-free miles places John among the best truck drivers in the country. It also highlights the importance of safety in trucking. Roehl Transport promotes “The Roehl Way” of Protective Driving, and John’s success is proof that safety-first approaches work.

Life on the Road and at Home

In addition to his professional success, John’s family life is just as important to him. He and Debbie have built a strong family and are proud of their three children and six grandchildren. Balancing a long and successful career with a happy home life is no small feat, and John has done it all while keeping safety front and center in his job.
