The primary objective of this survey was crystal clear: “to gain insights into the difficulties they encounter in their quest to maintain Trucker Health by adhering to a healthy diet and an active lifestyle on the road.”
Dietary Dilemmas Impacting Trucker Health
For truck drivers, the quest for a nutritious meal while on the open road can be akin to navigating uncharted territory, posing significant challenges to their Trucker Health:
Limited Food Options: A considerable challenge is the scarcity of healthy dining options that accommodate trucks, with 43% of truck drivers encountering this problem.
Time Constraints: The demanding nature of their profession leaves little room for seeking out nutritious meals, as 40% cited a lack of time as a major constraint.
Cooking Conundrum: Thirty-six percent of drivers confessed to not having the equipment needed to cook their own meals in their trucks, making them reliant on alternatives, which can be detrimental to their Trucker Health.
Cost Considerations: The price of healthier food options was another hurdle, with 34% indicating that these alternatives often come with a higher price tag, making it harder to maintain their Trucker Health.

Stress Levels: An overwhelming 88% of respondents admitted to experiencing a high (26%) or moderate (62%) overall stress level in their profession, which can significantly affect their Trucker Health, with only 12% reporting low stress levels.
