Free Mid-Trip Truck Inspections Offered Ahead of 2025 International Roadcheck

TA Service Centers Help Truckers Prep for CVSA’s May Inspections

Truck drivers can take advantage of a free mid-trip truck inspection offer for a limited time. The inspections are available ahead of this year’s Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) International Roadcheck.

From April 29 to May 12, 2025, TA Truck Service locations across the country will provide these inspections at no cost. The offer is available at participating TA® and Petro® travel centers.

Free Truck Inspection Before the Annual Roadcheck

The CVSA International Roadcheck is the largest truck inspection event in North America. It runs this year from May 13 to May 15. During the event, inspectors check trucks and drivers for safety and compliance.

If problems are found, trucks may be taken out of service. This can lead to delays, added costs, and missed deadlines. TA is offering the free inspections to help drivers avoid those risks.

Mid-trip inspections help catch mechanical issues before they get worse. According to TA, inspections can detect problems like worn brake pads, low tire pressure, or fuel leaks. These issues might not be obvious at first but could lead to violations during the Roadcheck.

What Drivers Should Look Out For

TA encourages truck drivers to watch for signs that their truck needs attention. TA suggests looking out for:

  • Strange noises or smells
  • Vibrations or smoke
  • Warning lights on the dashboard
  • Performance issues

Even if there are no clear signs, a professional inspection can still help. Some problems can be hidden but serious. Catching them early can help avoid larger repairs later on.

How to Get the Free Truck Inspection

Drivers can visit participating TA Truck Service locations for their inspection. No payment is required. The offer runs only through May 12, 2025.

Drivers can use the TruckSmart mobile app to schedule their inspection. The app allows users to find a location, join the service line, and track updates in real time.

The inspections are available at many locations across the country. Truckers planning to be on the road during Roadcheck week are encouraged to schedule early.

Why a Truck Inspection Matters in May

The CVSA Roadcheck is a major event for the trucking industry. Each year, it focuses on key safety areas. Brakes, tires, and lights are among the most common reasons trucks are taken out of service.

By getting inspected early, drivers can stay ahead of problems. This helps keep their trucks safe and avoid downtime during inspections.

Free mid-trip inspections offer a way to prepare before enforcement begins. For many drivers, that small step could help avoid bigger problems on the road.
