ADOT enforcement results reveal over 900 violations during a two-day commercial vehicle safety operation near the Ehrenberg Port of Entry on I-10, Arizona.

CMV Safety Enforcement Uncovers Over 900 Violations

The ADOT commercial vehicle safety enforcement operation in western Arizona has now concluded, with officials reporting more than 900 violations during the two-day effort. The operation took place near the Ehrenberg Port of Entry along I-10, a major freight corridor connecting Arizona and California. While the goal was to improve safety and compliance, the results highlight ongoing concerns across the trucking industry.

ADOT Operation Targets Busy I-10 Freight Corridor

The enforcement detail, known as “Operation Full House,” was carried out March 25 and 26 by the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) Highway Patrol Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit, in coordination with ADOT and other agencies.

The operation focused on commercial vehicles traveling through the I-10 corridor near Ehrenberg. This area sees heavy truck traffic daily, making it a key location for inspections and enforcement efforts.

Officials said the goal of the ADOT-supported operation was to ensure compliance with state and federal safety regulations while reducing crash risks involving large trucks.

Enforcement Uncovers Over 900 Violations

During the two-day enforcement effort, officers conducted 254 commercial vehicle inspections and identified a total of 925 violations.

The operation also resulted in:

  • 51 drivers placed out of service
  • 82 vehicles placed out of service
  • 8 seatbelt citations issued

Out-of-service violations mean that drivers or vehicles were not allowed to continue operating until the issues were corrected.

These numbers reflect a significant level of non-compliance found during a short enforcement window.

ADOT Focuses on Key Safety Violations

The ADOT enforcement operation targeted several critical safety areas, including:

  • Driver qualifications
  • Hours-of-service compliance
  • Vehicle condition and maintenance
  • Distracted driving
  • Seatbelt use

Inspectors evaluated both driver behavior and vehicle condition during roadside inspections.

The high number of violations suggests that safety compliance remains a concern, especially in high-traffic freight corridors like I-10.

Follow-Up to Planned CMV Enforcement in Arizona

This enforcement effort follows a previously announced ADOT safety operation aimed at increasing inspections near the Arizona-California border.

At the time, officials stated that the goal was to improve roadway safety and ensure commercial vehicles meet regulatory standards.

The results now provide a clearer picture of the types and volume of violations found during that planned enforcement period.

What ADOT Enforcement Means for Truck Drivers

The results of this ADOT operation highlight the importance of staying compliant with safety regulations, particularly in areas known for high inspection activity.

Enforcement efforts like this often focus on:

  • Equipment condition
  • Logbook accuracy
  • Driver readiness

Drivers traveling through ports of entry and major freight corridors may face increased inspection activity during similar operations.

ADOT Enforcement Efforts Expected to Continue

ADOT-supported enforcement operations are part of a broader effort to improve commercial vehicle safety across Arizona.

Officials say these targeted inspections are designed to reduce crash risks and promote safer freight movement throughout the state.

Given the number of violations identified, similar enforcement campaigns are expected to continue in key trucking routes across the region.
