The child was last seen with his mother, Aaliyah N. Jack, 25, and his one-year-old brother. A warrant was issued for Jack’s arrest for not reporting her missing child. She was arrested in Mississippi, but the one-year-old was still missing.

The next morning, at about 9 a.m., a trucker called CPSO. He had seen a baby in a ditch on I-10 near mile marker 10. Deputies rushed to the scene and identified the baby as the missing one-year-old. Despite being outside for two days, the baby was miraculously alive.

“We looked at this one-year-old, he was our miracle baby because he was still alive. Unbelievable. This kid spent two days out in the weather on the side of the highway. Thank God that trucker saw him,” said Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Stitch Guillory. Sheriff Guillory expressed deep relief and gratitude for the trucker’s quick action.
